3 rules for choosing the right shade

Most colour mistakes come down to one of these — read them before you order.

1

Match your ends, not your roots

Your roots are always darker than the rest of your length. Compare the shade against your mid-lengths and ends — that is where the extension actually shows.

2

Compare in daylight

Warm indoor lighting changes colour completely. Stand by a window and compare in natural daylight.

3

Don’t judge from your phone screen

The most common complaint in the whole extensions market: “the colour isn’t like the photo.” Every screen shows a different shade, and filters and lighting change everything. Don’t rely on photos — send us a photo of your hair in daylight, from the back and the side, and we’ll match it for you.

Colour FAQ

How do I choose the right extension shade?

Match the shade to your mid-lengths and ends, not your roots — roots are always darker.

Why does the extension look a different colour to my hair?

Lighting changes colour dramatically. Compare the shade in natural daylight by a window, not under warm indoor light.

Can I dye the extensions?

100% Remy natural hair takes dye darker only, and a professional stylist is recommended. We advise against lightening — it weakens the strand.

What is the difference between highlights and ombré?

Highlights are lighter strands spread through the whole length; ombré is a gradient from darker roots to lighter ends.

Will the colour look like the video?

Each video is filmed on real hair in natural light with no filters — the truest representation of the shade. Even so, your own hair remains the final reference for matching.
