- First, you need to prep your hair.
- For clients with long hair, braid your hair into a ponytail then clip it up using bobby pins to create a flat surface on your head.
- To make sure your natural hair is tucked away, put on a wig cap.
- Test the size of the hair wig. Place the 5x5 closure hair wig on your head to make sure it fits your head.
- If you feel that the wig is small or sits a little too loosely, remove the wig and adjust the strap that is on the inside of the wig.
- Once you adjusted the strap, place the wig on your head starting from the front moving it to the back to cover your entire head.
- If you chose not to wear the wig cap cause you didn’t need to, go ahead and clip the 2 clip in pieces in place then insert the comb into your hair to secure the wig in place.
- Next, carefully cut the excess lace around the forehead.
- Fold back the front part of the hair wig a little to allow some space to apply the wig glue.
- Apply your choice of glue on your forehead, making sure you are mirroring your natural hairline. Make sure you leave a little space so as to not apply the wig directly on your hairline.
- Use a blow-dryer to dry the glue until it becomes tacky to the touch.
- Then, carefully unfold the lace and pull it slightly towards so that you can apply it directly on the wig glue. Press down on the lace to make sure that the lace has adhered to the glue.
- After making sure that the wig has adhered to your forehead, use a head scarf and tie it around your head (on top of the area with the lace that you glued down). This step helps the hair wig to adhere more effectively and to stay flat and not lift.
- If you think you need to cut more of the lace, go ahead and do that, and try to cut it as close to the hairline as possible.
- Finally, finish up by brushing your wig using a paddle brush and styling it.
